Survey – Quantifying Potential Use. UC Geog309 project

The aim of this project is to quantify the potential level of use that the Christchurch Coastal Pathway may receive. We are interested in the types of use the pathway would receive, especially in terms of children and adolescents commuting, as well as families general recreation habits. We are a group of five University of Canterbury students working in conjunction with the Christchurch Coastal Pathway Group. who are the driving force behind the pathway project.

Your involvement in this project is voluntary. However, we would be grateful if you could complete a short questionnaire, which should take around five to ten minutes. If you are interested, there is also the possibility of further participation as part of a focus group with others that will take around one hour. If you are interested in participating in this, please contact Brittany by either email () or phone 03 383 8511 as soon as possible.

The results of the project will be aggregated for our final report, but you can be assured of the complete confidentiality of data gathered: the identity of participants will not be made public.

This student project is being carried out as part of the undergraduate degree in Geography. The work is being supervised by Professor Simon Kingham who can be contacted by email () or phone (03 364 2987 extn. 7936). Simon would be pleased to discuss any concerns you may have about participation in this project.

This project has been reviewed and approved by the Department of Geography at the University of Canterbury, and is subject to the regulations of the University of Canterbury’s Human Ethics Committee.
